Streatham Storm vs Swindon Topcats
25 October 2009

Having all enjoyed our extra hour in bed a little too much the first two periods did not demonstrate the Storm's speed and power, an early goal from Swindon's number 11 gave the Topcats a nose advantage which we were unable to claw back despite end to end play throughout the game.

The next two goals from Swindon showed our lack of calm during a series of powerplays on which we were unable to captialise.

An unexpected flood (literally) between the second and third gave Storm time to wake up and we entered the last period with more rigour and out shot Swindon 7-2 and out scored 1-0 (Andrea from Fiona) this seemed to upset their goalie so much she decided that punching Zuzana would be eternally sensible, 1 bleeding nose, 2 time-outs and one replacement goalie later the game finished with a final push by Streatham to find another goal this wasn't to be and the game ended 3-1 to Swindon.

We look to take the energy from the last period in to our next game against Guildford at home on Sunday 8th November face-off at 4.30pm. (Swindon beat Guildford 1-0 last week so it looks to be a great game! see you all there!!).

Final score: 1-3
Shots: 25 apiece
Penalty minutes: 2-35

Streatham Storm vs Slough Phantoms
06 September 2009

Ouch! 2-15 …that hurts! Complimenting words from coaches and witnesses did not really help much to come over painful defeat on Sunday. With 3 sets of wingers, 2 D-lines and Amy and Page on centre position we were hopeful that we could have a good game against the strong but short bench of the Phantoms. Slough started at very high speed and got ahead with 0-4 in the 1st period. Similar scores for the guests in the 2nd and 3rd period. Paige puts the puck in the net for Streatham assisted by Sarah and Evgenia at 29's minutes into the game. The second goal was scored by Laura in the beginning of the last period.

Ruth had lots to do with 64 shoots on her net and was left without a chance many times without a stronger defensive play of her team.

But we would not be the Streatham Storm if we not be positive about it… we scoured twice, team spirit is good as always and not to forget our 3 new devoted coaches...Lucky us :)

Lots to work on in the next couple of weeks… bring it on!!
